Who want to be a Billionaire

# During last monts of my EVS, Teca decided to give me some mini project to organize in Ötletfa.
She asked me to organize one, the 26 November about France, she proposed me to do that like the TV game " who want to be a Billionaire".

So for that I prepared one PowerPoint with questions and answers with pictures of the presentator TV Jean Pierre Foucault like real game in French TV.

# This Tuesday I went to Ötletfa I bring all my stuff, and during the morning I spoke with Istvan and explain him how I would like to play. At 4pm we did 2 teams, 3 youngs by team and we started.

Rules were easy, good answer you grow up and win more money, wrong answer you don't win money but you continue to play.

All questions were about France, food, people, history, monuments..

When teams thought have the good answer we count 1, 2, 3... and they should show the letter A, B, C or D.

Finally they were good 3 wrongs answer for 1 team and 2 for the other team.

I think they spent a good time to play and learn a bit about France, with this non formal activity, and I hope they will remember in France it's Baguette and not Bagel :) and Quiche Lorraine not Pizza... :)

Thanks Teca, Istvan, Regi, Helga and Ötletfa's youngs :) I spent a great time.

Visit from Germany!

Last week one of my best friends came to visit me. We spent time in Budapest and went one day to Vienna. We saw the famous castle “Schönbrunn”, spent time in the city center which was decorated with a lot of beautiful lights and in the evening we went to the Christmas market which is called “Christkindlmarkt”. We spent a fantastic time together and she enjoyed the trip. To end her journey, to see where I live and what I do, she went with me to Szeged. On Monday we joined the Christmas workshop, she had the chance to get to know some people and to see what we do together. On Tuesday Gabi and I planned another workshop and it was really awesome! We did handicrafts like Christmas tree decorations and candles. It was really nice to spent some time with an intimate friend. On Wednesday I had to say goodbye, but - unbelievable – in ten days I fly back to Germany for Christmas!!!
I really look forward to see my family, but I also means, that 2014 is going to start and my last month will begin. I cannot believe how fast the time passes and I don’t want to think about my leave…

Back in Budapest!

City from above :)

“The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.”

In November I had the chance to continue travelling - to see Romania and some unknown places in Hungary.
On 1st of November Johanna, who is also a German volunteer and lives in Subotica at the moment, and I started our journey to Romania. It was already dark, when we arrived in Brașov (german: Kronstadt), a bigger city in Transylvania. We recognized that it was the Halloween weekend and a lot of people were there to celebrate “with” Dracula! But we were lucky and found a cheap, very old hotel with rooms for two.
It looked like Dracula lived there once…

The next days we had enough time to visit the beautiful Brașov! The November sun was shining while we went on the mountain “Tâmpa”. Above we had a wonderful sight over the city.

Furthermore we visited the old town of Brașov, went into the town hall and saw the famous “Black Church”.

We were lucky because there were a lot of special events, because of Halloween. For example we joined a festival in an old castle and the “Dracula Horror Film Festival”.

We got some nice presents for free like Shirts which glow in the dark and false glowing teeth. I am sure they will be a nice momento.

On Sunday we visited Sibiu (Hermannstadt). We met with another German volunteer there who guided us through the city. So we had the chance to see all the important sights of the city with some significant facts.

We spent a really nice time in Romania – I really love this country and would love to go back!!!

For me it is really important to see a lot of Hungary. So I decided to go to the second largest city in Hungary: Debrecen.
With two other volunteers (who are living in Pécs) I went by bus to Debrecen.

We used the whole weekend to see all the important sights of the city. For example we saw the Great Reformed Church of Debrecen, the Debrecen University, the Csokonai Theater and the Déri Museum. All these buildings look really awesome!
We went into the university and were not able to believe how nice it is! We found really good coffeehouses and restaurants and enjoyed the Hungarian kitchen! On Saturday evening we went to the cinema and saw “Phillips kapitány” – of course in English ;)

Now I plan some other journeys, because the time here is running and I want to see some other places!

In December for example I will visit Pécs!

My everyday life at „DARTKE“

The week starts with language lesson on Monday morning 10 o’clock.
After this Nicolas, Gergö, Bea and I meet to evaluate what happened in the last week, to talk about future plans and to prepare the Youthpass. Next I meet with Zuzu in school and we do her German homework together and practice some vocabs and reading. In the evening all the mentors meet, to talk about the last week, problems that occurred or were solved and some projects in the future.
On Tuesday and Thursday morning I meet Botond. His German is really good yet, but we solidify it. For example he prepares some lectures, so he is able to learn speaking fluently and I can fix some small problems.
Furthermore I meet Dudu on Tuesday and her brother Matthiasz on Wednesday. With Dudu I learn some basic steps of the German language, for example numbers and colors. We play a lot of games that help to learn these basics. Matthiasz is able to speak German fluently, because he lived 5 months in Switzerland. We talk a lot, play games and do some exercises, so he is able to continue speaking German.
When I am in the office I prepare new tasks and work on some ideas for future projects.

Sometimes there a some special days, for example this Thursday I will go to “Ötletfa” and we celebrate Helloween. Furthermore we have workshops with all members of the Mentorshipprogram.

Trip to Eger!

Our trip to Eger!

At the weekend (11.10.2013 – 13.10.2013) Nicolas and I visited Eger with some Erasmus students. The trip was planned by ESN (Erasmus Student Network) and luckily we had the chance to join them and to get to know some new people!!!

On the first evening we visited the famous wine cellars of Eger! After a nice dinner we tried the perfect wine!!!
On Saturday we visited the city. There are a lot of sights from former times. We were in the “Eger Castle”, visited the Basilica and the Minaret of Eger (40m high!), walked through the nice narrow alleys in the old part of the inner city and had the pleasure to see the “marzipan art” of “Lajos Kopcsik” - a famous confectionist.
On Sunday morning we took a bus to a very big wellness resort called “Saliris Resort”! We swam in the healing waters and enjoyed a nice time in the spa!!!

In the afternoon we had the chance to test how it is to be blind. After that we went home by train.

In the wine cellar!
