EVS - learning for life!

When I tidied my drawer in the office, I found a description of the European Voluntary Service I wrote for the visitors of the SZIN festival in August.

What is the European Voluntary Service?

The European Volutary Service is open for all people aged 18 - 30. By participating in the voluntary service you can develop new skills, build bridges between two different cultures, collect new experiences and expan your horizont.

Participation is free for the volunteers (except a possible contribution of a maximum of 10% of the travel costs). You get board and lodging, insurance cover and pocket money.

How can you find an EVS project?

A succesful EVS project requires at least three key players: a sending organisation, a host organisation and you - the volunteer. (Also a coordination organisation is important, but sometimes it is the same like the host organisation!)

You have to search in the "European database on EVS accredited organisations" for a sending organisation.
For example this could be DARTKE!!!

If you found a sending organisation you need a host organisation. You can find a lot of different projects in the database!
Each organisation is presented through a short description, it's motivation, the themes of work and the contact details.
So you have to contact them if you are interested and to send a letter of motivation.

Do not give up your dream if they do not answer! A lot of people send their application and so they do not answer everybody.

Do you need any qualifications?
No! There are no qualification requirements. Basic language knowledge will help, but is not necessary!

Now the EVS belongs to the new project which is called "Erasmus +".
