Our weekend in Kémes!

On Friday the 20th of September Nicolas and I went together with Gergö to Kémes, a small town around 40 km far away from Pécs. We had luck; a guy took us by car from Szeged to Pécs. There we used a bus to Harkány, where we changed a last time to Kémes.
The journey took nearly 6 hours and we were glad when we arrived in the evening!
We were cordially received by three other EVS volunteers, who are living in Fenntartható Ormánság, and another girl from Germany who does her EVS in Pécs.

We went to the only pub in the village and spent a nice evening together! Luckily we did not had to pay our drinks, because an old German man was really generous! ;)

At Saturday the festival started and a lot of guests came to the mill.

There were a lot of traditional events, for example music or dance.

I loved the traditional market with a lot of handmade products like jam, honey, sweets and knitted things.

Hopefully I get through the winter with my new socks made by a nice old lady!

In the evening we sat together with a lot of other volunteers who joined the festival. It was nice to get in contact with them, there were for example four guys doing their EVS in Croatia. We all slept together in the same room.  :)

We made a nice bicycle tour through Kémes!

On Sunday we learned what it means to be in a village… ;)
All the other guests were gone, but Nicolas and I stayed in Kémes, to go directly to Budapest on Monday
(On-Arrival Training!) Before we went to bed we watched a movie on a big screen while we laid down in our beds (Thank you Doratea+Bobbie!!!). It was funny!

Thank you for hosting us!!!!
